There's a fair selection of food, and most people seem to cook for themselves only on weekends, so the market thrives. Food is extremely inexpensive. For example, we bought rice and curry to feed the four of us and it cost 50 Baht which converts to about $1.75! We are learning that some of the vendors are better than others. The meat quality or the thickness of the sauce varies. In any case, we certainly aren't starving!
This evening at the market we stopped at one vendor who has come to know us. We had been having some issues with getting our number across with this fellow. So this time we asked for ten little dessert dumplings. He got it, but then as he was getting them ready he counts the four of us and the he counts the number of dumplings. He looks at Nadim with question in his eyes, obviously noting that there are two left over. Nadim smiles, and points to himself and holds up four fingers. We all burst out laughing.
Today was Monday and we were back at school. We went to the school in the morning because the girls were asked if they wanted to have some Thai dance lessons. There is a performance on Friday and they get to dress up, so of course they couldn't resist that! They came back all smiles.
Other than that, it was pretty much the same as last week. More home schooling, more English class, and more fun with the kids.
