After the market we started to cook. Roya and I made stir-fried chicken and cashew nuts, spring rolls, chicken and coconut milk soup, paenang red curry paste and the curry itself, and deep fried bananas. Nadim and Yasmin made Pad Thai (Yasmin's favourite), fish cakes, hot and sour soup, green curry paste and the curry itself, and water chestnuts in coconut milk. We had great fun.
Unlike the cooking course in Vietnam, which was really more of a demo, this was really hands on. We chopped and fried and stirred, the only thing we didn't do was the dishes!
Yasmin and Nadim's green curry (above) turned out very well, but I liked the paenang red curry (below) that Roya and I made better. Perhaps I was a bit partial! Actually all the recipes turned out really well. We got a cook book as part of the course, so now we can prepare the meals at home. I'm sure our friends' eyes are lighting up!
The course ended around 4:00 pm. We then got the dressing on Yasmin's foot changed again. It's healing nicely and we probably only have to go back a couple more times.

We also took in a bit of the night market. We found a few things, but didn't break the bank, so Nadim might allow me to go shopping again before we leave. I do like all the fabrics. It's really tempting but the trouble of sending it home, or of carrying it with us is enough to make us think twice. Hopefully that means we are coming away with the more special things.

You are definitely going to be put up to making Thai food! I'll help as I'd love to know how to make it as well, but that is going on the list of "Things to do when we get home..."le
It is good to see Y & R learning to cook. When you are back, may be they can cook some Thai food.
tons of love, Baba.
