Hello England

We said our goodbye's to Elizabeth and Luke and the kids this morning. We'd all had such a good time that it was hard to leave. We had to say "Until next time", because "Good-bye" is just too hard.

The flight was fine, but when we arrived in England we found out that the Victoria line on the underground, which was the one we needed, was closed for the weekend! We found an alternate route, but we ended up lugging our bags up and down various stairways as we changed tube lines a few times. Then onto a red, double-decker bus for the last bit. It took us a bit longer than expected, but at least we arrived safely.

Once we arrived at Luke's sister's house we were welcomed with open arms. Victoria and her husband Dirk Willem were great. They had a BBQ on and kept feeding and feeding us. It was all so delicious and they were great fun to talk with.

The kids had fun too. They took about five minutes to situate themselves and then they were running around playing hide and seek, board games, and card games. They even got to roast marshmallows with Max, Sebastian, and Philomena. What more could a kid ask for!

Dave & I stayed with Vicky and D.W. in Summer 1998 and can also attest to what great hosts they are. And that was before kids and marshmallow roasts! Have fun,
XOXO
