The meetings ended early today so we had some time to socialize with some of the Baha’is that remained behind over a cup of chai. We’ve exchanged e-mail addresses with some people so that we can keep in touch. Nadim is trying to convince Sameer’s family to come visit us in Canada. He thinks he has him almost convinced!
In the early evening we did a walking tour of Panjim. It was still quite hot so we were glad that we were doing the walking or should I say strolling tour at our own pace.
The town has a lot of Portuguese influence, but of course India is still a different world. We climbed to the top of a hill with a temple on it and had a nice view. You can see the tiled rooftops, the kids playing cricket or soccer in the empty lots, and the dusty play parks.
In the far distance the view was of a winding river and some lakes with many trees and forested areas. It was quite lush. This is the dry/hot season and we’ve seen a lot of dry fields during our stay, so this was a nice change.
